Appalachian pioneered the concept of end-break and defect detection in warp knitting machinery in the 1960’s with the SCANNAIR and ASM-7 and we’re still leading the way with the SCANNAIR and ASM-10 scanner for current Mayer/Liba tricot, Raschel, weft-insertion, lace. Jacquard and double needle bar machinery.  And the CEPA-2000 provides full time runner control plus complete knitting machine process analysis. AUTOWARP Series 1000 & 2000 electronic let-off offers expanded capabilities to the warp knitter.

Carpet manufacturers worldwide have adopted the SCANNAIR and TUFTIGHT for excellent end-break and tight end detection for reduction of mends, elimination of low lines and optimization of machine running efficiency.  We have applied this equipment to a variety of machinery including Card-Monroe/Tuftco cut pile, loop, Graphics, Enhanced Graphics, Scroll, etc … The TUFTSCAN provides defect detection at the needles for most tufted goods.

For optimal warp knitting and weaving machine performance, warp preparation is the key.  Perfect warping tension control is assured with the YTC-210 ELECTRONIC TENSION SYSTEM.  The MODEL-500 warp sheet inspector provides excellent defect detection.  The IL-100 MOTION SENSOR system at the package and/or the WARPSCAN camera-based system provide effective end-break detection capability.  We also custom fit shockless (anti) static systems to specific warping lines.

20MP Loom Scan is a proven stop motion device for various weaving machinery.
