Appalachian pioneered the concept of yarn sheet inspection in the
1950's and we're still leading the way with the Model 500 Yarn Inspector.
The M-500 is a processor-
based unit incorporating a control center for operator interface, quick and easy
keypad programming, MINOR/MAJOR/LENGTH defect detection, warp yards and revs counters,
defect flagging, beam mapping, automatic calibration and self-diagnostics capability.
For most applications, the SINGLE rail system will provide the
defect detection and warp quality required. For high speed warping and close
inspection of fine filament yarns without "false stops", specify the DUAL rail
system.

The M-500 is the final quality
control check point prior to weaving or knitting. Defects are detected, counted and removed.
Warp quality is quantified. Beam Mapping and Automatic Calibration assist the
Quality Control department with establishing and maintaining critical ISO 9002
certification. The
BD-10/BD-12 End-Break
Detection System may be integrated within the M-500. These are Infrared
transmitter/receiver systems usually associated with an air unit designed to blow out the
end-break, interrupt the light beam and provide stop signal to the warper. For spun yarn
applications specify the BD10-1A (single channel with air); for fine filament specify the
BD12-2A (dual channel with air). For end-break performance at the carrier roll specify the
BD10-1 (single channel without air). |
