Third Rail Intrusion Device

Designed specifically for work crew safety on electrical powered train tracks, Appalachian's Third Rail Intrusion Device gives an audible as well as visial indication of danger from oncoming rail traffic.

Third Rail Intrusion DeviceThe device is linked to tracks by two 20 ft. 12 awg. cables with 21 ampere Mueller clips, close to work area on tracks on which power is disconnected.  Should a train come into the non-powered work area, the device gives an audible alarm which features a siren; 125 db at one yard and a visual alarm featuring two Xenon strobes; 100,000 foot candles at 90 flashed per minute, warning work crews of impending danger.

Servicing is simple, the few parts that exist can be checked or replaced. The system includes plug-in components for fast service.
