This is our first newsletter since the open house in Atlanta.   We are very pleased with the turn out of over 50 textile professionals who took their valuable time to view the Weave Scan demonstration.

We have since recieved over 14 requests for trial installations.   The first two trials were installed in early March/April.  We has some problems associated with lense and lighting which were quickly resolved.  The overall hardware and software has performed very well.

At this point we have not changed the detection algorithm.   However, based on some of the samples we have received, we are sure that some performance modifications will be made for particular styles.

Tests at the two trial sites are in progress and we are now making plans for the next four Beta sites.  The first of these was installed on July 15, 1998 and will be put in service the week of July 20, 1998.

Please be patient with us.  We want to install units as quickly as possible, bet we also know that we cannot leave a Bea site until we are completely satisfied the Weave Scan is performing at the best possible level.

So, contrary to what you may have heard, the Weave Scan is alive and doing quite well.  If you requested a trial unit, we will be contacting you for samples soon.

Sincerely,
Larry Nickell
